Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have intermittent slight pain in my upper left side under my ribs. Not bad pain but nagging. Sometimes it radiates on down my left side. My internist recommended a colonoscopy. Could it be colon related or what could the other possibilities be. Doesn t wake me at night but feel it at times when awake.
Pain under rib on left side could be due to various causes. It could be due to spleen, colon or a muscular pain. I suggest you to get an ultrasound done before going for colonoscopy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
