What Causes Pain Under The Right Rib Cage Upon Physical Exertion?

I have been having pain under my right rib cage in the front and back for over a year, but it seems to be getting worse. It intensifies if I am tired, stressed, or do physical labor. I have also started having indigestion at night after going to bed.

Hello,

The pain at the rib cage may be due to the muscles but because it has lasted for more than a few months (a year and a half), you will need to have a check with your doctor to make sure it is not due to the liver, gallbladder, kidney, pancreas or the stomach.

You will need an ultrasound of the abdomen which will visualize the liver, gallbladder, kidney, and pancreas. If this is normal then you may need an endoscopic examination of your stomach to make sure you do not have any stomach lesion causing your symptoms.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
