What Causes Pain While Sleeping, Wrist Pain And Numbness In The Arm?
My friend experiences sudden pain while sleeping, enough to wake her up. She also has wrist pain from years of being a sculptor. She just told me that she sometimes also has numbness in an arm. Does this set of symptoms suggest any course of treatment?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice
These symptoms might be related to carpal tunnel syndrome, considering that she is a sculptor and has the wrist pain. She should consult a orthopedist, and perform EMG-NCV examination to measure the function of the nerve along the carpal tunnel. If after the consult results to be carpal tunnel syndrome, she can try taking antiinflamatory medicines as Naproxen once daily for a month and certain stretching exercices.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
