Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Throat ache, ear pain, lumpy pain on swallowing, redness over palatoglossal arch. What should be done? very red. I am not sure how to follow this up ...I have had an aching throat with referred ear pain or the other way round for three to four weeks ...
I can understand your concern. It seems that you are suffering from upper respiratory tract infection or bacterial tonsillitis.
I would advise you to start with the antibiotics. You should take Azithromycin 500 mg (Azee 500) once a day for 3 days. In addition, you should start antihistamine such as Levocetrizine 5 mg (Levocet) once a day for 5 days. You can also take over the counter available decongestants and can do steam inhalation at home.
However, if the condition does not improve in 5 days, you should consult an ENT specialist for clinical examination and further investigations.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
