Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Painful Abdominal Distention After A Lung Surgery?
I had lung surgery over 6 weeks ago. All is good with that however I was left with horrific nerve pain, at least that’s is what the doctor says it is. The pain is across my abdomen and around into my back. I have a lot of swelling in my stomach and I look like I am 6 months pregnant. I have an ultrasound that turned out normal so no answers there. I am on 600 mg of gabapentin 3 times a day but really not helping. I am being seen by a pain clinic but at a standstill right now. I have to get back to being normal and go back to work. Any ideas?
There is a chance, you take less diaphragmatic respiration, and take more abdominal respiration. It is natural because of your lung surgery, although it will come normally with time later.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
