What Causes Painful And Prominent Veins On Hands?
I am 49 years old, overweight and a smoker. I am diabetic & asthmatic & have other health issues too. I have now got very prominent veins like little balls on my hands, and my hands turn blue & not just with the cold. It is very painful. I have seen my gp who is after a 2nd opinion, he is concerned incase I cut myself. What is my problem & can it be cured

Prominent and varicose veins may be caused over hands and feet by increased intrathoracic pressure due to any cause.In your case it may be due to chronic obstructive air way disease like bronchial asthma.So keep diabetes and bronchial asthma under control.
