Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, so earlier today i was sitting in class and i hit my wrist against something and i quickly felt an uncomfortable pain and noticed a large brown purple looking bruise appearing on my wrist and i am pretty sure i did not hit it against anything or hurt it so i am wondering why it suddenly appeared?
The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to musculo-skeletal injury. X ray of the wrist joint will be helpful in detecting any bone fracture.
The pain and purple bruise is caused due to accumulation of fluid and blood (haematoma) following the impact. Symptomatic relief can be obtained by ice therapy, application of analgesic & muscle relaxant gel, intake of analgesics like Diclofenac + Serratiopeptidase preparations (to be taken after food) + Pantoprazole (to be taken 30 minutes before meals). Supplements of Calcium & Vitamin D can be included in your diet which will help in strengthening of bones.
If symptoms still persist, kindly consult an Orthopedician for proper clinical examination. Till then, maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status, take proper rest and avoid stress.
Wishing you a Good Health. Take care.
