What Causes Painful And Swollen Toe?

Hi. My family and I were in Disneyland for 3 days. We did a lot of walking; staying over 12 hours each day in the park. When we left yesterday my grandma was complaining about her right toe hurting and today it is really swollen and her nail looks like its going to fall off. What could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thanks for your consultation at HCM!!
I have gone through your case and being your physician I completely understand your health concern..
I would like to have a look at it before giving any diagnosis but based on the history you have provided my provisional diagnosis is that she has got abscess in her toe...
. She Should consult her doctor so that proper antibiotics and antiinflammatory drugs can be prescribed...Your doctor will tell you whether she need drainage or not....
Meanwhile she should restrict her physical activities and take acetaminophen and use soft shoes.....
Hope your query is adequately answered if you still have any query feel free to ask anytime...
Regards
Dr saad Sultan
