What Causes Painful Bladder Spasms After Recovering From Bladder Cancer?

My friend has had bladder cancer & treated with chemo. More than 6 mo. have passed and he is still in awful pain and bladder spasms. His Urologist said there was nothing more they could do for him. He s been in misery for so long, but doesn t seem to want to have a second opinion . He is 77 yrs. old.

Thank you for your query
I am really sorry that your friend is pain.

It sounds as if the bladder cancer could not be treated by chemotherapy or that he might have a recurrence and spread of the cancer within the body.
Did his doctors say that it was u treatable or what stage the cancer is. (there are stages which classify the extent and invasiveness of the cancer)

If that is the case, he could have palliative care to have some normalcy of routine life like pain medications.
hope this helps. please let me know if I can be of help.
Hope your friend feels better
