What Causes Painful Blister On The Outer Vaginal Lip?
About a week ago I noticed a small bump about the size of a pea on the outer vaginal lip. It was only slightly uncomfortable when touched. So I left it alone. Now it has become more irritated and inflamed. Looks kind of like a blister but painful to the touch. Was thinking maybe it was an ingrown hair and when I looked it up my symptoms matched that of an infected ingrown hair. Any suggestions on how to treat it, or if I am even correct with my self diagnosis?
This likely indicates a superficial infection- may be from ingrown hair or a boil. As the inflammation and symptoms are progressing, this need antibiotic treatment. For such cases, I used to give amoxycillin or amoxyclav for 5-7 days. Your doctor will guide you. Meanwhile keep the area clean and dry, take paracetamol or ibuprofen for pain relief and avoid squeezing.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
