What Causes Painful Blood Clots?

Hi, I went to a walk in yesterday, and was given medication for a urinary infection, as I was exhibiting signs of a UTI and was urinating blood. I was told the medication would take effect immediately (for 6 days). However, today I am passing bigger more painful blood clots. Should I wait or go to the hospital?

Hello,

I think you need to go to the hospital. You should do an ultrasound to check the reason if blood clots. Probably, it can be kidney stones causing those clots but needs to be confirmed by ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
