Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been diagnosed for coccydynia since 5 days now and the pain doesn t seem to get reduced. I have felt a formation of a clot like thing which is restraining me from sitting. Please advice if this is a problem related to tail bone or this is something else.
Hello and welcome to HCM, A X-ray of the lower back is required to assess the vertebrae and the tail bone for any growth or any other lesion. If any growth is present, appropriate steps can be taken to treat it. Coccydynia is commonly after trauma due to abrupt fall on back, trauma during child birth or similar strenuous activity. If there is any history of injury or trauma to lower back, then this may be the probable cause of coccydiania. Thus, clinical assessment is necessary before any management is planned.
