What Causes Painful Blotches At The Site Of The Faslodex Shot?

I HAD MY THIRD INJECTIONS OF FASLODEX FOR MY METASTATIC BREAST CANCER EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. THIS EVENING ABOUT 6:30PM I BEGAN HAVING PAIN AND BLOTCHES AROUND THE INJECTION SITE. ALSO, DOUBLE VISION. I CANNOT SIT THROUGH ANOTHER ER VISIT. DO YOU KNOW IF FASLODEX CAN CAUSE DOUBLE VISION? I HAD NO REACTIONS TO THE FIRST 2 INJECTIONS. I WILL CALL MY EYE DOCTOR IN THE MORNING. I ALSO SLEPT ONLY A COUPLE OF HOURS LAST NIGHT AND FOR SEVERAL NIGHTS BEFORE.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Usually, there is no documented side effect of severe visual changes through the injection of Faslodex, though there can be individual variations and one may not deny drug sensitivity even at 3rd dosage also.

ER visit with an ophthalmologist and further care in accordance is mandated.

Primary care with ice application at the injection site as well as cold water splashing for eye relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
