Hi, I have been feeling a lot of bruising up and down both my shins for a while. But before we go the shin splint route, I have to tell you I haven t been running or exercising in a while. I m over weight, female 40 years old I have hypothyroidism and hashi s. I just recently had a total hysterectomy for stage 1 uterine cancer( they got it all) and I was bleeding before that for over 8 months. Do you know possibly why I m having major shin pain, no bruising? And some swelling
Bruising in shins associated with pain can be due to trauma. In hypothyroidism, the skin is known to become thin and thus more susceptible to injury and bruising.
