What Causes Painful Bumps In The Vagina?

I started taking cipro for a uti and then started to get what I thought was a yeast infection after, which I was expecting, but then my vagina got super sore and irritated. When I looked with a mirror I was sores inside that kind of resembled canker sores. It started to hurt so bad to the point where I could barely walk and it burned to pee really bad, I checked and had more sores inside and then 2 that were white on top. I started taking warm baths with apple cigar vinegar which started to clear up the pain a lot. I then started to get bumps on the outside of my vaginal lip that were red / had a clear fluid in them & also started to have discharge/ bleeding that was brownish-red in color. I went to the gyno and they did an exam and said it looked like herpes. They also gave me meds for a yeast infection. My blood work came back negative for herpes, and the soreness inside my vaginal went away but I still have the bumps on the outside of my vagina & it started to burn & tingle really bad. The burning feeling has subsided quite a bit but the bumps are still there. I don t know what this is- if it s just a really bad yeast infection, bad reaction to the cipro, or some sort of bacterial infection, but I m really looking for something to clear up these bumps!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be genital wart or molluscum. Nothing much to worry as both of them are harmless and easily curable conditions.

Consult a gynecologist and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
