Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain coming from what I think could be my colon but am unsure it is about 2inch inward towards the sternum and about 3 up from the lowest part of the rib cage. This pain gets worse with pressure is applied and seems worse when I eat certain food
Hello and welcome to HCM, The area where you feel the pain is the chest region. The internal structures which are present in the chest are heart, lungs, pleura and esophagus or food pipe. Colon is present within the abdominal cavity and not the chest. Pain after eating food is suggestive of indigestion or reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus or food pipe. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and prescription of medication to control the symptoms. If required, you may have to consult a gastroenterologist.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
