Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on my menstrual cycle and I also have 2 cysts on my left ovary that put me in a lot of pain and my cycles are all messed up every month but what I want to know is that is it normal or what does it mean when you use the bathroom and its orange reddish bloody look? Should I be worried and see my doctor right away
Ovarian cysts commonly go away without treatment. However, when they grow larger in size, twist or rupture they may cause pain. Since you are also having orange, reddish blood when you use the bathroom, you are advised to get clinically examined by a gynecologist. Get all required tests and investigations done to confirm ruptured cyst and to detect tumors, endometriosis, cancer, etc.
Your symptoms may be indicative of ruptured cyst. Ruptured cyst causes bleeding from the vagina. Warm compress may help. Stay at rest. Take pain relieving medications like Naproxen or Combiflam. In case of complications, it may require treatment by laparoscopy or laparotomy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
