i acquired an earache after having the flu in early february it will not go away. Now it s hurting in my jaws and my ears still hurt. i m currently taking ciproflaxin, flonase, and alieve. it s too painful i can t even open my mouth. I ve been to the doctor twice. Once for the fluid on my ears and the second time for the pain. they are still irritated. I just want some relief.
Since you have history of suppurative otitis media and now have pain radiating from ears to jaws, you need to be treated with antibiotics and analgesics via injections for faster relief. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT to rule out any presence of wax and detect the degree of infection and fluid in the ear.
In the meantime you can take a course of Augmentin and for pain take Combiflam or Naproxen, one SOS when needed. Take antihistamines for relieve of allergy and ear congestion. Take liquid or semi solid food like porridge, custard, oats, etc. Never take medicines in empty stomach.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
