What Causes Painful Hard Lump At The Base Of Thumb?

Hi, I fell on my hand about 6 weeks ago and after 2 X-rays at the. Hospital they said there was no fracture just soft tissue damage and would take 4-6 weeks o heal. It seemed to be getting a lot bette but the last couple if days it has been hurting a lot more and there seems to be a hard lump formed on the outside of the base of my thumb. Even after icing and the swelling has gone down, there is a hard lump making my hand look slightly deformed.. Is this normal?

Hi I did review your concern
The hard lump that you have been experiencing needs to be evaluated by a doctor to see what it is. After an injury it could be reactive soft tissue swelling, callus or myositis ossificans. It will not go away with icing. An xray of the local area and if required a fine needle aspiration cytology may be warranted to see what is the cause of the hard lump
I hope this helps
wish you all the best
