What Causes Painful Indentation At The Back Of The Head?

I fell about 4 hrs. ago. Hitting my butt 1st and my head 1st on a chair that mind of gave me a whiplash like movement so when the back of my head but. It hit hard. I had a lump and used an ice bag now the lump went down not all the way and I feel like an indent. Should I be concerned

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful indentation at the back of the head . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like sebaceous cyst , localize infection , lipoma or lymph nod swelling .

It is vert important to treat it properly , because sometimes infection can spread to scalp and further . I would suggest you to consult general surgeon for proper examination .

Doctor will examine it for tenderness and consistency , take sample for lab test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory or recommend surgical treatment .
