What Causes Painful Intercourse Along With Vaginal Bleeding?

I had sex with my boyfriend a few days ago and it was kind of painful for me we had not done much foreplay so we assumed that was why. We later realized that I was bleeding. I have never bled during sex before. I am not due for my period for a couple of weeks and I m very regular so I knew that wasn t the case. We thought maybe my cherry had popped but it s been 3 days and I m still bleeding quite a bit. Is this normal?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Pelvic examination is required to look for localized cause. Consult a gynecologist or your nearest general physician. You didn't mention the exact time period, else I would have advised about morning after pill to prevent pregnancy. For now, you may get a pregnancy test done if you miss your normal period dates.

Wishing you best of health.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
