What Causes Painful Intercourse And Low Libido After Complete Hysterectomy?
I m 50, has complete hysterectomy back in 2009. Was in hospital (other issue) where after a 45 min MRI I went back to my room and to the bathroom. I felt wet and sipped. Lots of bright red/pink blood with what appeared to be a clot on the tissue. I m 5 5 and 245lbs. I had slight cramping but it went away. The rest of the day I had slight spotting. Previously had polyps but gone when cervix was removed with everything else. Two years later (after removal of everything) I had a polyp removed during my annual exam. I have NO sex drive and sex is very painful. I do take hormones daily and have ever since I had the hysterectomy. I finally gain a little natural lube but we use lube every time. I also still get UTI after every time we have sex. I m concerned. Any ideas to help me?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
* The painful intercourse is due to possible lack of vaginal lubrication from various issues, pelvic inflammation, UTI or others.
* The lack of sex drive is from hormonal imbalance from loss of both ovaries in total hysterectomy.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
