General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
I understand your concern.
There could be many medical reasons for painful intercourse and associated burning sensation or it can be sometimes psychological also.
It needs evaluation because it can affect your sexual relationship and married life.
Most of the times, lack of proper lubrication can also cause this problem. Also, anxiety or fear during intercourse can precipitate such problems.
It would be better for you to consult a Gynaecologist and get your vaginal examination done to rule out the local cause.
You may also need vaginal swab culture and sensitivity, urine examination and ultrasound scan of pelvis to rule out any associated medical cause like cervicitis, endometriosis or cystitis.
After complete evaluation, the underlying cause could be treated, which should help you to overcome the symptoms.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
