What Causes Painful Intercourse Years After An Abortion?

A friend of mine had an abortion years ago but ever since has not been able to have pain free sex. She says she can get aroused and it starts off reletively pain free but after a certain point there is intense pain and she cannot continue. What could be the cause of this??

I went through your question. The reason for abortion should be ruled out first. Painful intercourse (dyspareunia) may be due to past surgeries which may leave scar tissue that can cause pain. Because the bladder and intestines are close to the vagina, they may also cause pain during sex. Choclate cyst of ovaries and any pelvic infection may also cause painful intercourse.
Estrogen cream to the vagina is helpful. It relieves pain. You could also try OC pills.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
