I have had sex with a guy but we didn t go much further as it was hurting a lot and he was not even using condom so I asked him to stop.My periods which were about to come on 7th of this month are delayed. I took pregnancy tests twice and it came negative both times but i haven t got my periods yet. I m scared what could be the reason behind it?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is important for you to have a visit with your doctor and have Gyne examination. A common cause of painful intercourse (dypareunia in medical terms) can be due to infection (cervicitis or PID). Your doctor might need to do a gynecological examination and probably send samples for chlamydia and gonorrhea tests and also repeat the pregnancy test. According to the findings during the gynecological examination your doctor might also prescribe antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards, Antoneta Zotaj, MD
