What Causes Painful Itchy Blisters On The Vagina Of A Diabetic?

I have a few bumps on the inside of my thigh and outside my vagina there are a few on the outside of vagina that look like blisters that are red and peeling. I am a diabetic and the only new melds I have started is Invokana. The bumps and red blister are itchy and hurt. Can you please advise me on what this could be?

Hello,

You should get tested for STD. The blisters may be related to herpes genitalis. I don't think the blisters can be related to invokana drug you just started. Being diabetic can increase predisposition of having yeast infection also. Do a vaginal smear.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
