What Causes Painful Lump At The Base Of Skull ?

I have a lump at the base of my skull on the right side causing bad headaches. The lump is about 1.5 inches long and not quite a .5 inch tall. The lump only hurts a little when pressed, but it is painful on it's own most of the time and makes the whole right side of my head hurt. I have had a headache now for over a week and the lump is larger now than a week ago. What could this be?

Hi,
It seems that you might be having ingrown hair follicle infection or infected Sebaceous cyst.
As this is of recent origin, it might be hair follicle infection.
Go for one antibiotic medicine course for 3-5 days.
If not cured, consult your doctor and get examined.
