Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. My husband has a large lump (approx. 2 diameter) in the crease where his upper thigh and buttocks meet. It has been getting more painful, and making it difficult to walk or sit. Is there anything we can do at home, or should we go to the doctor? Thank you for your time.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a large painful lump in the crease of upper thigh in the crease where the upper thigh and buttock meet seems to be due to causes like hairfollicle infection while other causes can be infected gland in the area or infection in the skin leading to pus formation under the skin..
I would suggest you to consult a General surgeon or you can even see a general surgeon and get evaluated. He can advise you a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller and topical application of antibiotic, steroid and numbing ointment.. Do cool compresses as it will help in reducing inflammation.. In case if there is pus formation then Incision and Drainage can help in faster resolution..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
