Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I developed a slightly painful lump in my labia minor. It is under the skin. Over it there is a bruised looking spot. I am married and there should be no risk of sexually related disease. I am 50 years old. I have started digital massage three to four times a day for about 1 minute or less. It was getting smaller, but now it is significantly larger for the past day.
Thanks for posting your question on HCM! I can understand your problem, nothing to worry. I am of the opinion that you are suffering from an abscess cause by blockage of Bartholin's gland in your vagina which needs to be examined by a doctor to rule out other conditions. Home treatment: Use of sitz baths. In a sitz bath, fill the tub with warm water only up to hip level you should soak in three or four sitz bath a day, for at least 10 to 15 minutes each. This can soothe your pain & discomfort. If the condition doesn't improve after two or three days of self-care treatment then you have to consult your doctor for surgical drainage of the abscess. Best regards!
