What Causes Painful Lump On Abdomen Post Injury?
I was in a major car accident a week ago today and have a bruise that entirely covers my lower stomach. It has a knot that is painful to touch and it hurts when I stand or sit. One of my students hit me in the stomach on Wednesday. Should I see a Dr. or is this normal?

The bruise covering the whole lower abdomen after a car accident and after the student hit you in the stomach is not normal.
You should get the following investigations done :
Ultrasonography and color doppler of the abdomen and the abdominal wall.
The probable causes cane be :
Hematoma of the lower abdominal wall, the commonest cause is teat of the inferior epigastic vessels and resultant hematoma. Another possibilities are about a muscle spasm or hematoma.
Small hematoma can be left to heal on its own, the large one should be explored and the vessels ties, otherwise re-bleeding can occur.
