What Causes Painful Lump On Neck After A Steroid Shot?
Was Wondering. I Had A Steroid Injection In My Neck Months Ago. They Did It Without Sedation And When He Pulled The Needle Out I Felt A Pulling Sensation That Really Hurt. Now I Have Discovered A Small Painful Lump In My Neck. I Am Insure If This Is The Exact Location Of The Injection But Could THat Cause This Lump? Being Seen For It But Haven t Asked Them That Yet Because I Don t Want To Sound Like I m Accusing Them. My Neck Is Really Sore.

Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query can be due to hair follicle infection that is known as Folliculitis. It can also be carbuncle or a boil or side effects of steroid short . I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. You can be advised to apply a combination of antibiotic and steroid ointments over the lumps..
You can also do cool compresses. A course of oral antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can also be advised. Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist .
