What Causes Painful Lump On The Back Of Head?
I noticed a lump on the back of my head I m hoping it s from wearing my hair up and a hair clip I noticed I was in a little pain at my photo shoot when I was doing certain wall shots cause my hair clip was hitting the wall. I was also at work yesterday and I had my hair up and it was soar but I noticed while in the shower there was a marble sized lump and it hurts could having your hair up real tight with a big hair clip cause a lump?

I have gone through your query and being your physician i completely understand your health concerns.
what is ur age? For how long u are suffering from it? Any other associated problem? like diabetes or hypertension? Are u running fever? Any other lymph node swelling in ur body?
It would be better if it get examined by ur doctor so that exact diagnosis can be made in time ... sometime a cyst is present there for a long time and get noticed until it is infected and start producing pain. it could be a sebaceuos cyst ,lipoma . And it need examination to ascertain this.
You should meet your surgeon at least once so that it can be appropriately managed. you can use painkillers to relieve pain and dont scratch this swelling...
Meanwhile stay calm and use acetaminophen to relieve pain
