Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a lump on my left leg right on my shin for years can only really see it when I swat down it has never hurt or bothered me well for the past 6 month I have noticed sharp pain every now and then right where the lump is but only last for a few seconds and now I can t run without it hurting I can walk and it don t hurt its only when I run. Should I go see about it? I don t have insurance so I don t want to go if it s nothing to worry about
The lump on your left leg seems like lipoma (fatty mass) since no pain or any other symptom so far. As you started to feel pain when running only, I think it might be due to overuse of the muscles there, they do tighten and give this fastidious feeling at the site where the lump is. At this point, I think it's time to check it out by a dermatologist and run an ultrasound. This will help determine the right diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Think it over again although you do not have insurance, your health comes first.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
