What Causes Painful Lumps In Breasts?

Hi I have been to my doctor and have found 5 lumps in my right breast one of these is in my arm pit and two in the other breast,they are very sore and pain comes from under my armpit to top of my breast and up my neck. am overweight approx. 14 stonne an 5ft3.i am being referred to a hospital but I am stressing an no you cant give a proper diagnosis but should I be stressing as I am

Hello,

It looks like you are having fibrocystic disease of the breast. Do not get panic. What is required is a systematic work up. First a mammogram needs to be taken, followed by fine needle aspiration cell study from all the lumps. If required a excisional biopsy can also be done. If the results are as a benign lump or malignant lump, it is better to remove all the lumps. If the pain on the breast continues some medicines like evening primrose tablets will be prescribed by your surgeon. Do not panic and stay calm.
