What Causes Painful Lumps On The Wrist?

I have knots that come up during the day and overnight. They are painful. In the wrist, top of the head, back of the hand, in between the knuckle in several fingers. I ve ask my dr.s And they just dismiss it as it is nothing. I have compression arthritis gloves and that seems to protect and sooth the lumpsucker it s on my hands. Usual 3-6 day period that the lumps last. Does this sound familiar? I m baffled and can t find anything on the web.
