What Causes Painful Muscle Spasms?

I am having extremely painful muscle spasms - I began having spasms years ago while on statins. Quit taking statins but was put on fenofibrate and the spasms have gotten much worse to the point of not being able to rest at night - having to get up and walk the floor, use ice packs, applying heat trying to stop the spasms. I have now quit taking fenofibrate. Can I regain muscle control and reduce the spasms by this measure?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for your post on HCM

I do understand your pain and discomforts

As per your history is concerned you may follow like this-:

1)check your blood calcium, phosphorus and TSH level to ruled out hypothyroid & Hypoparathyroidism

2)Take a multivitamin every day and add [potassium chloride] which is called as black salt a pinch each time after your meal.

3)Do CBC with differential

Hope that helps
