Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful open sores on the inner lips which is because of herpes simplex virus infection i.e symptoms of cold sore. It occurs because of lowered immunity of body due to excessive cigarette smoking and autoimmune causes. Need not to worry about it. Visit general practitioner once and get oral examination and visual examination done. If its not identifiable then go for culture by taking sample with the help of swab to determine if bacteria, viruses, or fungi may be causing the bumps. Avoid pricking it. Use antiviral ointments such as rich in acyclovir. Wash face frequently, only with water without use of any chemical agent. Your symptoms will resolve soon. Avoid smoking as it will exaggerate your symptoms.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Mahehshwari
