i went to the doctor for pain in my right thumb. my thumb had turned dark purple and there is no color in the nail bed. i have been diagnosed with high blood pressure - high cholesterol and diabetes. i am a 44 yr old female. Family physician sent me to a vascular surgeon for my thumb. I have had upper extremity doppler testing - a stress test and a cat scan. The surgeon felt I must have a blocked artery - they still have not been able to diagnose my problem and the thumb pain is still intense. I cannot use it very well and it is so sensitive when i bump it on anything. everyday chores are so challenging and frustrating. Any ideas? thank you.
