What Causes Painful Purplish Bruise On Inner Upperlip?
Purplish bruise in my mouth behind my upper lip. Causing a lot of discomfort and pain. Went to dentist Monday and the dentist assistant hit my tooth making it loose. I also had an extraction done on my left moler. Face is swollen specifically the left side of my face
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain purple bruise in the mouth behind the upper lip can be due to injury caused by any dental instrument or any hard food.. The bruise can be due to injury to any minor blood vessel causing blood accumulation under soft tissues leading to inflammation and hematoma formation.. The loosening of the tooth due to injury can lead to loss of tooth so it will be better if your consult your dentist, get an x ray done to rule out the exact cause and treatment can be planned accordingly.. For painful bruise apply a numbing gel over it, do cold compresses, take Motrin for pain.. Avoid hot and spicy food to prevent irritation..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora
