Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just found a rash on my lower left butt cheek- it hurts pretty bad and does not itch at all. The there are quite a few bumps all in the same area. I ve had shingles before and I don t think that s it- I looked online and all I can find is that it could be herpes- which freaks me out and highly unlikely. Also I was sitting in a chair for a while today and my butt got really hot and sweaty and I recently washed the jean shorts I was wearing and so I was thinking maybe it s a reaction to the detergent?? Any thoughts?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful rash on lower buttock which occurs due to allergic reaction due to detergent, soap, and it could be due to infection of hair follicle.
Need not to worry. You should apply cold compresses and avoid any cosmetic product. You should wear loose clothes and avoid frictional heat due to constant rubbing. For now take benadryl twice a day. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antihistamine , corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short. Avoid touching or picking rash. Maintain complete hygiene.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
