Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful red spot on the shin which could be due to viral infection, petechie, blockage of sebaceous glands as legs has large number of sebaceous glands. It could be due to allergic reaction leading to dermatitis and hair follicle infection by bacteria. Need not to worry. You should rinse the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice a day. Protect the area from direct sun exposure and apply cold compresses. Apply topical antibiotic cream such as neosporin 2% on it. You should take a course of antibiotic Tablet. Take a course of Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid twice a day for 5 days. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
