Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Painful Sensation In The Right Side Of Jugular Notch?
I woke up this morning and noticed that it slightly hurts on the right side of my jugular notch. It is uncomfortable just in that area when I swallow. And it hurts to touch the right side of my jugular notch. It isn t like sore throat pain. It feels more like its on the outside of my throat. The left side doesn t hurt at all. I do not have a history of this. I am a 39 y.o. Female. I had a hysterectomy(I still have my ovaries).
* As there is no sore throat, the painful sensation in the right side of the jugular notch indicates possible muscle spasm more likely than internal issue.
* Presence of ovaries with removal of uterus will usually not pause any i'll effects over this region through its presence or absence.
Obtaining particular postures, analgesic tablets intake for a couple of doses will help you to meter up the progress of the condition and if later you feel so, just call your primary care for further assistance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
