Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a spot that came up on my scalp, and became concerned when it started raising quite a bit all at once. My doctor said it is seborreic keratosis and nothing to worry about but I guess I was concerned because it grew so fast and when I comb or brush my hair I catch it and it is painful
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful spot on the scalp . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like skin cysts , cherry angioma , folliculitis , lipomas and neurofibromas , hyperthyroidism and lichen planus . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist if it is start growing or start changing its consistency . Doctor may examine physically and take biopsy . Doctor may prescribe steroid drug , liposuction or recommend removing it surgically . For now do not touch it again , maintain hygiene of scalp and again and apply warm compresses . Dot massage or scratch it . Do not touch it again and again.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
