Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter is 15 years of age and is experiencing pain in her sternum mostly when swallowing but also sometimes when not swallowing. She eats healthy and does not seem to be under stress other than thinking about softball tryouts next week! I am trying to see if I should take her to the doctors.
It is because of acid reflux injury to oesophagus. Stress can be a reason behind this increased acidity and reflux. I treat my patients by antacids and anti vomit tablets. Give her bland diet. Sleep with extra pillows to prevent the reflux. Relieve her anxiety by reassurance, meditation. If no relief in a week, visit a doctor.
I hope my answer will help you. Please write to hcm for follow up queries. Hit a thanks. Thank you
