What Causes Painful Swelling And Lump Like Feeling Below Neck?
I have a lot of swelling below my neck and between the shoulder blades. Its been like this for years. Any idea what could cause this? I also have lumpy rolls on the back of my head that would make me look like one of those wrinkled dogs if my head was shaved. It swells more when I am stressed and hurts to touch when swollen.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful swelling and lump like feeling below neck which seems to be due to acute lymphadenitis along with induration in surrounding neck tissue and it could be due to crystalline stones in duct of the submandibular salivary gland. Need not to worry. You should consult general physician once and get evaluated. You should apply warm compresses several times a day. You should take proper combination of antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medications. Apply numbing gel over that area. You can go for physical therapy sessions as wel after proper prescription.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
