What Causes Painful Swelling Behind The Knee?

I m having severe pain behind my knee, almost like it is swollen but appearance is normal. It feels like it could rupture. I have taken 3 ibuprophen about an hour ago with no relief and am currently applying an ice pack. Any suggestion on further treatment to gain some relief?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You have done right thing by taking ibuprofen and applying ice packs.
If pain is still persisting then better to consult orthopedic doctor and get done clinical examination and x ray and MRI of knee joint to rule out internal injury.
You may need splint immobilization.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
