What Causes Painful Swelling In Finger After An Injection’s Needle Prick?
Good morning Doc. I prick my finger with an injection needle 2 days ago and it s swollen and hurts a lot. It was ok on Sunday the swelling went down and the pain ease. On Monday mud day it s hurting again and it s swollen again. Please doc what to do, it s my index finger, and I did not seek medial attention . Help!
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that due to needle prick injury there has been inflammation of the soft tissues leading to inflammation and pain and the swelling is occurring due to inflamed tissues..
Nothing to worry as it does not seems serious and will resolve soon.. You should do cool compresses over it.. Take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
In case if it worsen or there is swelling or pus discharge consult a General Physician and get evaluated and he can advise you a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkillers and topical antibiotic and steroidointments..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
