What Causes Painful Swelling In The Foot?

Hi My son is having issues with one foot, it is swelling and he has pain he says it s like pins and needles. He is very overweight has been test for diabetes in the past and he has been in good health. He is working for the month where he is standing all day normal he is able to sit down he is a music director for a high school. He just had an ultra scan to rule out a blood clot. He is not able to go to his regular doctor because he is out of town working.

Hi,

It can be due to neuropathic pain due to nerve impingement due to over weight. We have to rule out conditions like contusion or tiny fractures as well.

As of now, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Diclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, better to consult an orthopedician and get evaluated.
