What Causes Painful Swelling In The Groin Area During Pregnancy?
Yes please, 14 weeks pregnant 31 y/ old with swollen groin area Very tender to touch. Dr thought hernia surgeon said no, thinks it may be a lymph issue. Also pain in lower back upper buttocks think is satica.MRI order with contrast . Can t use contrast while PG. what is going on. What type of Dr should she see. Blood work up for std pg tests were normal 3 weeks ago. What now
First of all, relax your self as it is not an emergency. As far as I suspect this is round ligament pain and hernia. Round ligament varicosity (RLV) This is rare and almost all cases are pregnant women. It might appear unilateral or bilateral groin swelling. Pain and tenderness are present. Clinical evaluation is not sufficient for exact diagnosis because an inguinal hernia has similar findings. Ultrasonography is essential when a groin swelling is detected in a pregnant woman. Lower back ache is normal in pregnancy. She should consult some lady surgeon for after sonography.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
