What Causes Painful Swelling In The Hand?

I am having swelling and pain in my left hand. The joints are where the swelling is. I have tried hot oil with moist heat and cold compresses. The pain and swelling have not gone away in 3 weeks. Is there a medication I can take OTC? I am also taking Warfin. Will be 80 years old this Nov.

As you mentioned you have problem of swelling at hand region that may be because of injury or other reasons.
X ray of affected site is helpful for further diagnosis.
Any facture of bone can detected in X ray.
Anti inflammatory drugs may help.
